NORTHERN ITALY is a gorgeous landscape of deep blue lakes, smart resort towns, ancient villages, fortified castles and lush gardens. Lake Maggiore's charm and sophistication are the perfect setting for Baveno, a small lake-side resort flanked by cypress trees, dotted with villas and lake-side promenades brimming with cafe's and bars overlooking the Borromean Islands. From our accommodations directly on the lake-front in a converted 18th-century villa, we'll enjoy excursions to Isola Bella's magnificent Baroque palace and terraced gardens, quiet and secluded Lake Orta, romantic Bellagio on Lake Como and see the highlights of Milan -- including the Duomo and La Scala theater -- in a half-day tour. A highlight of this holiday may be the full-day excursion to Lugano -- called "the sunny side of Switzerland" by Rick Steves, with a splashy, zesty, Mediterranean ambience. Lake Maggiore is one of Italy's most elegant destinations with old world charm, flower-decked lake islands and shores spanning two countries.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS FOR DEPARTING AND RETURNING TO THE U.S.
As many international destinations have introduced vaccination requirements for indoor experiences (museums, restaurants, attractions, etc.) even though the entry requirements for that destination do not require vaccination, vaccination will be required to travel on all international tours starting on September 1, 2021 through April 30, 2022. We will continue to review and update our policies as restrictions are lifted.
All passengers are required to complete the DPLF Digital Passenger Locator Form (https://app.euplf.eu/). We will be sending out specific instructions for this form as we get closer to departure.
The following link provides additional helpful information: https://ambwashingtondc.esteri.it/ambasciata_washington/en/sala-stampa/dall_ambasciata/ingressi-in-italia-dagli-usa-e.html
Currently masks are still mandatory outside, on public transportation, restaurants, museums and attractions. This may change by October as vaccination levels increase.
Negative Test Requirement
All airline passengers to the United States ages two years and older must provide a negative COVID-19 viral test taken within three calendar days of travel. Alternatively, travelers to the U.S. may provide documentation from a licensed health care provider of having recovered from COVID-19 in the 90 days preceding travel.
We have made arrangements for our group members to get tested at a local lab with minimal interruption to the tour schedule. The lab will deliver the test results to our hotel. The cost of the test is to be paid by the traveler at the lab. The exact date and price will be included in your final documents.
We will continue to provide updates related to mask and test requirements as we get closer to departure.
