NORTHERN ITALY is a gorgeous landscape of deep blue lakes, smart resort towns, ancient villages, fortified castles and lush gardens made even more lovely in the spring with vibrant blooms and lush greenery. In May temperatures are generally mild and we’ll have a more peaceful experience with fewer tourists. Lake Maggiore's charm and sophistication are the perfect setting for Baveno, a small lake-side resort flanked by cypress trees, dotted with villas and lake-side promenades brimming with cafés and bars overlooking the Borromean Islands. From our resort-style accommodations at the Grand Hotel Dino - directly on the lake-front - we'll enjoy excursions to Isola Bella, quiet and secluded Lake Orta, romantic Bellagio on Lake Como and see the highlights of Milan in a half-day tour. Lake Maggiore is one of Italy's most elegant destinations with old world charm, flower-decked lake islands and shores spanning two countries.

Full-day excursion to Lake Como: guided tour of Villa Carlota, mini-cruise around the lake, free time in Bellagio. Half-day excursion to Bergamo with guided tour, lunch at a local agriturismo. Excursion to Omegna and visit the local market; continue to Lake Orta and cruise to the Island or Orta San Giulio. Full-day excursion to Milan with a half-day guided tour. Day at leisure in Baveno.

The Grand Hotel Dino is a luxury hotel located on the shores of Lake Maggiore in Baveno with a range of amenities typically associated with resort-style accommodations. Known for its stunning views, elegant architecture, and high-quality amenities Grand Hotel Dino offers panoramic views across Lake Maggiore. This large and elegant hotel features both indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a SAND BEACH. Rooms are air conditioned and have classic furniture, a mini-bar and satellite TV and overlook the lake or the mountains. There is a games room as well as 2 outdoor swimming pools and hot tubs with views across the lake. The wellness center has both a sauna and Turkish bath. The Dino has a number of restaurants and bars, some of which overlook the lake. Surrounded by gardens, it is next to an interesting art gallery and the jetty for boat trips across the lake.
Prices are per person based on double occupancy. Single supplement is $840. Triple accommodations may be available upon request. Fuel surcharge, air taxes and fees subject to change. Please note that this tour includes a guided walking tours where you can expect to encounter hills, uneven surfaces, cobblestone streets, unpaved roads and stairs. Participants should be able to walk for extended periods, typically around 2-3 hours a day and stand for long periods during the guided tours.
