A unique and unforgettable experience awaits on the Club president’s holiday in enchanting Sardinia. Surrounded by the bluest waters in the Mediterranean, Sardinia’s interior is a magnificent rugged landscape with remnants of its ancient nuraghic culture, a smattering of Roman ruins and traces of Spanish Baroque-influenced architecture. While still Italian, Sardinia is distinct with its own cuisine, culture and history. With The Travel Club president, Tyler Montgomery, we’ll begin our discovery with four nights in charming Alghero, a coastal town located in northwest Sardinia. Known for its beautiful beaches, stunning sea views, and rich history, Alghero has a unique Catalan influence, evident in its architecture, language, and cuisine. We’ll visit the village of Palmavera, an important site of the Nuraghic civilization – a prehistoric culture that flourished from around 1800 to 238 BCE – and a prehistoric necropolis. Later we’ll have a wine tasting and some local specialties at the Sella & Mosca Estate. Enjoy a guided visit of Alghero surrounded by 17^th-century walls and its maze of alleys and squares. (Be sure to stroll the ramparts at sunset for breathtaking views.) We’ll transfer to Olbia, a vibrant city located on the northeastern coast of Sardinia – for a three-night stay. Stop in the medieval village of Castelsardo, set on a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea. Enjoy a boat excursion to La Maddalena Archipelago (the Pearl of the Mediterranean) and have a traditional Sardinian lunch on board and snorkel in the transparent turquoise sea. FEATURES

Explore the Nuraghic civilization at Nuraghe Palmavera. Visit Sella & Mosca Estate and the Villamarina winery for a tasting and local snacks. Full-day guided visit of Alghero. Excursion to the protected area of Oasi Naturale di Monte Minerva where we’ll witness a cheese-making process and a tasting with bread and wine. Visit the prehistoric monument at Domus de Janas. Stop in village of Castelsardo. Boat excursion to La Maddalena Archipelago with a traditional lunch on board and the opportunity to snorkel. Prices are per person double occupancy. Single supplement is $480. Triple accommodations may be available upon request. Fuel surcharge, air taxes and fees subject to change. Passport required. Per person deposit is $500.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Please note that this tour includes a guided walking tours where you can expect to encounter hills, uneven surfaces, cobblestone streets, unpaved roads and stairs. Participants should be able to walk for extended periods, typically around 2-3 hours a day and stand for long periods during the guided tours.
